Hoa sen nhìn từ ngoài vào trong:
a. Năm cánh trên chỉ năm hạnh:
- Cánh giữa: Tinh Tấn
- Trái của cánh giữa: Hỷ Xả
- Phải của cánh giữa: Thanh Tịnh
- Trái của Hỷ Xả: Trí Tuệ
- Phải của Thanh Tịnh: Từ Bi
b. Ba cánh dưới chỉ ba ngôi báu:
- Cánh giữa: Phật
- Cánh trái: Pháp
- Cánh phải: Tăng
4. Hoa Sen Mọc Trong Bùn
Ngoài ra, hoa sen là loại hoa mọc trong bùn dơ nhưng vẫn toả ngát hương thơm, tượng trưng cho người Phật Tử dù sống trong xã hội đầy dẫy tội lỗi nhưng vẫn không trở thành xấu xa.

The white color of the lotus represents the complete brightness of wisdom and purity. The green color surrounding the lotus represents the uprising of youth, filled with hope for the future.

The circle represents the perfect, all-embracing nature of Buddhism.
3. The Lotus Emblem Has Eight Petals
The lotus, from outside looking in:
a. The upper five petals represent five conducts:
- Middle petal: Endeavour (diligence — always bettering ourselves)
- Left of middle petal: Forgiveness
- Right of middle petal: Purity
- Far left petal: Wisdom
- Far right petal: Compassion
b. The lower three petals represent the Three Jewels:
- Middle petal: Buddha
- Left petal: Dharma (the Buddha's teaching)
- Right petal: Sangha (the monastic community)
4. The Lotus Grows In The Mud
Even though the lotus plant grows in the mud, it still produces a lovely fragrance. This symbolizes a Buddhist living in a society full of wrongdoing who, nevertheless, is not corrupted by the surrounding events.
