“Pare ca naṁ pasaṁsanti,

If others praise one

attā ce asamāhito;

who has no immersion,

Moghaṁ pare pasaṁsanti,

they praise in vain,

attā hi asamāhito.

as one has no immersion.

Pare ca naṁ garahanti,

If others criticize one

attā ce susamāhito;

who does have immersion,

2.3

Moghaṁ pare garahanti,

they criticize in vain,

2.4

attā hi susamāhito”ti.

as one does have immersion.
