“Pācīnavaṁsadāyamhi,

In the Park of the East-Raftered Hall

sakyaputtā sahāyakā;

the Sakyan friends,

Pahāyānappake bhoge,

having given up great wealth,

uñchāpattāgate ratā.

are happy with the scraps in their bowls.

Āraddhavīriyā pahitattā,

Energetic, resolute,

2.2

Niccaṁ daḷhaparakkamā;

always staunchly vigorous;

2.3

Ramanti dhammaratiyā,

having given up mundane delights,

2.4

Hitvāna lokiyaṁ ratin”ti.

they enjoy the delights of the Dhamma.
