1.1

“Anusāsi mahāvīro,

He counseled me, the great hero,

1.2

sabbadhammāna pāragū;

the one who has gone beyond all things.

1.3

Tassāhaṁ dhammaṁ sutvāna,

When I heard his teaching

1.4

vihāsiṁ santike sato;

I stayed close by him, mindful.

1.5

Tisso vijjā anuppattā,

I’ve attained the three knowledges

1.6

kataṁ buddhassa sāsanan”ti.

and fulfilled the Buddha’s instructions.
